    Pilly`s 325i Mtech 1 Convertible

    Hey there,

I'm Philipp, 24 years from Hamburg in Germany and I'm happy to be a part of the international e30 community from now on :p

I bought my second convertible 4 years ago in a poor condition and spend a lot of work to get it the way it looks now.

It's a 325i convertible from 1989 with an subsequently attached Mtech 1 Kit, slight 40/20 lower and 7.5x16" ACT rims. Over time I added a lot of features and I'm trying to come near to have it "fully-equipped".

While I'm usually studying finance, I'm very interested in electrics so my personal addiction are the original, old car radios and how to make them ready for 21st century. I think I will do an english DIY here within the next days.

    Greetings,
    Phil

Excellent car! i would love to see the DIY you are talking about because I have a few old E30 radios that I'd love to install an AUX IN, but can't find the wiring diagrams for the radios anywhere and there's no DIY for it.

Beautiful car! What type of center arm rest is that?

Thanks to all of you :-)

I really like the Mtech 1 kit but there is the plan to purchase a 100% stock vfl with a lot of chrome and a m30 swap in the future to complement the garage :D

What kind of radios are US e30 usually equipped with? I searched ebay.com and it seems there are not the same radios like here in Germany?

The center arm rest is adapted from an e36. There is a DIY in the german e30 board, I think its pretty self-explaining.

I just left out the part with the pleather and painted the wooden body in black.

Were the leather door panels and center consol original, or did you add them? Looks great!

Well, I added them but they are originally from a "last edition" convertible, so its BMW work there. I have seen a lot of door panels that were leathered afterwards and I have never seen a result comparable to the original saddling job, even if there is a lot of money spended.

If you are interested in that, I did measure the door panels once, just have to search the picture.

+1 on this, I hate my aftermarket CD player, I'd love to get back in a factory unit with an aux in retrofit.

Great looking car! I have a 1993 vert with ACT/Ronals and would love to rework the original (busted) radio it came with. Keep us up to date on your radio work!

                            Hi,

                            thanks a lot :-)

I wrote a first part of the DIY on Sunday night - is it usual that it needs some days until the posts in den DIY area are confirmed by a mod?

As to the ACT: 16" with cross spokes (is this term right in english? :D) are the best! I really like the ESM wheels some of you have, too. Sadly its is very very difficult to get some 16" with certificate in Germany :(

Thanks, yes, I'd like to see more pics. I was fortunate to buy an Mtech convertible that came original with a full leather interior, including door panels. As you can see, it's a different style than yours. I'm trying to find another set of door panels so that I can re-upholster my interior with m-tech fabric. I don't want to alter these.
